CLASSIC
Lead-Acid Batteries
Introduction
The Yuasa Classic range covers specific historical fitments
and meets all the original performance requirements set out
by the vehicle manufacturers.
FEATURES
Maintenance Free
All Classic batteries conform to the relevant section of EN50342:2006
for maintenance free characteristics (LWL low water
loss). This means that when used in approved vehicle applications
that operate in normal conditions, it is not necessary to
add water to the battery.
Classic batteries are maintenance possible not impossible,
the batteries are designed to be topped up if water loss has
occurred. Excess water loss can be caused by many things,
amongst the most common are a charging system fault, prolonged
operation in hot climates and excessive off vehicle charging.
Deep Cycle
Classic Batteries are traditionally designed for specific
heavy duty applications. Battery designs are based on thick
high density active materials which give the ultimate performance
for the traditional applications which specify these batteries.
Note: Lower cost versions are available which are based
on automotive plate technologies. These are designed for starting
power, so although the ratings may look similar or greater,
experience will quickly show the reduced life of these products
in field usage.
Performance Optimised Grid Technology
Classic batteries have been designed using a Heavy Grid
design, aimed directly at the cyclic requirements of this
very unique market.
Vibration Resistance
The Classic battery by design is built to conform to the vibration
resistance criteria EN50342:2006. This is particularly useful
for applications where the vehicle is constantly travelling
over uneven terrain. With a conventional battery, this constant
vibration can cause the active material in the plates to come
away from the grids and can very quickly result in a battery
failure.
